MARIE GILL
From a dude ranch to Russia...
my cup is always full.
My roots are based in hospitality and creating ‘experiences’ for people – friends, family, guests. At an early age, I was tasked with making business acquaintances and clients of my parents feel welcome, mix cocktails for them and pulling out my guitar for impromptu singalongs.
I discovered how creating these micro experiences can be powerful – transforming everyday activities into memorable, treasured events.
With many adventures in my background, I transitioned into a global career with beloved and recognized brands; continuing to share my passion of networking, developing people, and acting as a catalyst in making the "ordinary" extraordinary.
If you look at where you want to go, you'll steer towards it. I've always been focused on getting to places and working with people that challenged me and enabled me to do better.
To satisfy several itches including curiosity and growth, I left the world of coffee to explore technology.
I helped to lead a company based in Boston that used their digital gym concept to create life-altering realities for everyday people and to revolutionize for the insurance industry on what aggregated data could do to empower people to do better for themselves.
I stepped into a mentoring, coaching role with the University of Washington helping dozens of innovators and entrepreneurs find their secret sauce for getting to market and adding their contributions to society.
I launched a consulting career, partnering with a best-in-class organization optimization leader, where I packaged my front-of-the-house skills to augment his back-of-the-house expertise.
Through all of this, I discovered the power of storytelling, creating evangelical brand enthusiasts and solving complex problems. I realized that my super-powers could create a vision and path forward for others to do their great work.
I admit, I am a Bright Shiny Object person. I am constantly learning, reinventing, and imaging bigger solutions to just about everything. I am an eternal optimist, rarely letting ‘stuff’ bog me down, but happy to push it aside in the quest for positive outcomes.
With one foot in the corporate world, paying my bills and moving enterprise forward, I have always had a second foot in my community, supporting nonprofits, connecting issues to solutions, and finding ways to help others be more effective.
I would love to connect with you or help you find others who can help.
Here’s to a bright new world waiting for us all!
